Teaching & Training

Core research skills, which deal with the day-to-day activities of a researcher, are usually well trained by the researcher’s environment.

However, the formal training on advanced research and transferable skills is often less structured and efficient.

This gap is filled by PI-101.

By providing effective training on these areas, we are broadening the participants’ skills passport beyond traditional core research skills.

PI-101 focuses on supporting research consortia within the European Research Area (ERA). Therefore, our Teaching & Training activities are in line with all relevant regulations of the European Commission and the training expectations of Horizon Europe projects, including MSCA projects.

The current target groups are first-stage researchers (R1)* and recognised researchers (R2)*.

*Profile of the European Framework for Research Careers: R1 = up to the completion of a PhD or equivalent; R2 = PhD holders or equivalent who are not yet fully independent

PI-101’s professionally designed training on advanced research and transferable skills centres around six major domains:

This is done via interactive in-person or virtual training sessions, explanatory videos and quizzes, and detailed written guidelines. However, the specifics of the training can be adjusted to the particular needs of the consortium. All our activities are supported by partners in the private and public sectors.

Where requested, the personal and professional career development needs of the individual researchers and the required theoretical and practical training to reach these goals can be determined and outlined for their inclusion into the personalized Career Development Plan (CDP).

If you want to improve the Teaching & Training within your existing or planned consortia, please reach out to us to discuss the details.
